What do Changelings eat?

Postby AQD_Robert » Thu Jul 25, 2013 3:28 pm

Must they starve while they attempt to steal love, or are those prominent fangs good for gobbling unfortunate ponies?

Do they drink beer?

While you're wondering the purpose of those prominent fangs, I'm wondering the purpose of all those holes.

They're almost symbolic vampires.

In those stories, vampires drank blood to feed themselves. Well, for our changeling friends here, they feed in a similar way, except instead of blood, it is emotions and feelings. The best evidence for this is that Chrysalis wanted Shining Armor because of his Love at the greatest form, and love, in general, is usually seen as the strongest, or most potent, feeling/emotion anybody (and anypony) can possess.

It's a good question, and one of the reasons I don't write much about changelings is the lack of any answer that makes sense.

That's one of the reasons I feel I should put the in my fic, no one knows exactly who or what they are.

I'll have one in my fic and I'll see how realistic it is.

(Still think they are verisimilitude vampires)

Well in my fic the necrocorns feed off dark energy. That is their prime source of nourishment, but if they need to they can survive on normal food. Maybe its like that for the changelings?

Not sure, it could be, but most likely not. Changelings change forms, therefore the only stable thing that is there for them (without physical stability) is emotional or mental. The idea of feeding on someone's mentality is a little subjective, and not likely. However, emotions are pretty straight to the core. The only question is whether they feed on one certain emotion or all of the emotions which emit high "energy" level. In my fan fic, they're of the latter.

Necrocorns huh? Sounds pretty badass lol.

I'll tell you man.... When it's good, you'll get at least 100 views on the first day .-.

I have a total of 500 views for both my fan fics, I have so many, I genuinely feel bad that I'm being slow as to adding on to my stories...

Likewise :)

No one should have to write against their will, otherwise it's not good nor is it something that they enjoyed.
